I am grateful to the responses in regards to my weight.
Thank you everyone.
One thing I have always struggled with is this:
I have been told that part of the whole PCOS deal, along with being eligible for being the bearded lady at the circus (makes you wonder if they were actually living with PCOS) , is a v e r y s l o w metabolism.
In order to keep it going, I was told 3 meals a day is not the way to go, but 5 small meals a day. That this ‘fans the flame’ of my metabolism, so it does its job.
The issue I have always had with this, is that my tummy never rumbles and I eat when I am not hungry. I do believe, as a result, that I am overeating (not in the obsessive, compulsive, I need to go to OA sense)
For the last two days, I have waited until my tummy has grumbled to eat. What I have noticed as a result, is that I am LESS hungry at night (which is a HUGE downfall in my eating habits, eating after 7pm) Last night, I was happy to just drink water all evening. I usually eat around 3-4 times a week after 7pm and have decided that this would be the first thing I addressed. (don’t have to do much, just keep my mouth shut, lol)
The last 2 mornings, I have woken with a grumbly tummy. This tells me my body is actually in need of food, which is when I believe, I should be eating.
The only thing is, if I only eat when hungry, as opposed to timed dining, will this slow down my metabolism?
When I say I ate 5 times a day, morning tea is say air dried popcorn or an apple, or hummus and carrot sticks or SOMETIMES a biscuit/chocolate/home baking. I am not eating 5 HUGE meals a day.
I love my nuts, so much I married one.
Yet while nuts are good, as in low GI, they are high in fat. **Sigh**
So, to eat or not to eat, that is the question………..
Good question…………. let me know when you’ve found the answer will you? You can be my guinea pig
And have you seen my motivation yet?

Eat chilli, it revs up the metabolism.
Small meals, often. That’s the usual dietary advice. Eating breakfast boosts the metabolism. Not eating after 7 is the right thing.
You’re doing all the right things. I don’t know what else to advise.

Check out this website
http://www.dramandaonline.com/
She has written at least one book and I know a few people that have great success with her system. And you are doing what she says – eat when you are hungry. If you haven’t been doing that it may take a while for your body to get used to it again. In time you might be hungry for 5 smaller meals but in the mean time, listen to your body.
You’re doing great.

Yes, nuts might be high in fat, but it is good fat (monounsaturated). The kind you need to be healthy. It doesn’t actually make you gain weight.
Same way as avocado is very high in fat, but is the ideal food to eat to help you lose weight.

I agree WS you are doing all the right things from what I have read. Well done so far.
Google portions sizes too – I have seen a few things that relate it to palm of hand etc.
As well find weight watcher type free foods that you like and keep them ready in the fridge for when the munchies strike.
Curry is good as long as tomato based sauces and nothing creamy /coconut – like Jayne said spices to rev it up.

[...] and by the end of two months I plan to be back in a class or two. My motivation seems to have returned from chasing chooks and it wants that gym bunny crown, it wants to feel strong and in control [...]
