Once again it is Saturday.
And Lightening came up with Smiley Saturday.
See details here.
I thought about not doing a Smiley Saturday, as I will be repeating some of my Smiles. Then I thought better of it.
- Celtic Lad was Player of the Day for soccer this morning. He also had a turn as captain. I was not there at his game as I was at Celtic Dingo’s game. Well done Celtic Lad.
- Celtic Dingo was nicknamed ‘THE BRICK’ at soccer today for the way in which he played goalie. He stopped 5 goals and 2 got through. The first one, I don’t think even David Beckham could have stopped.
- Teen Shamrock ~ Another great result at uni B+ for a classics essay. I have come to realise that it isn’t just about the A’s and B’s for me that I am smiling. It says to me that she has adjusted well into the transition from college to University. That moving out was a good thing. That she is self disciplined enough to put in the study etc. I realise it is only the first year, but it is a damn good start.
- Independent. I was telling R that Celtic Lad had got into the Gang Show. She has been a part of cubs for over 20 years. I said how proud I was that he got in on his own merits. We have never used the autism diagnoses for preferential treatment or as a reason not to give something a try. She said “Hats off to you for all your hard work. Look how independent the boys are. I think you are wonderful.” It dawned on me. Don’t get me wrong. It has been a long and hard road. The thing that struck me was the word ‘independent.’ 5 years ago it was questioned how well Celtic Lad would function as an independent adult. If what he is doing now is any indication, I think he’ll be a lot more ok than first thought.
- This is funny, well to me anyway. I asked Mr Shamrock to buy some feminine hygiene products for me this morning. He came home with these thick, bulky, can’t get any bigger if you tried Poise pads for weak bladders. BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!!!!!!
So head on over to Lightening’s for some smiles.

Obviously the pads are for those ‘piss yourself laughing’ moments! lmao
The boys are such a credit to your patience, determination and love for the WS. You should be so proud of yourself for what you have achieved in ensuring that your boys will do well as adults.

Good job to ‘the brick’ It is one of the hardest positions of all, being a goalie. You are the last in line for a pat on the back if the team wins, and first to be stomped on if the team loses. A mighty fine job only letting two through.
Beckham’s a striker, not a goalie. *mutters under breath about silly women* (I’m joking, honey)

Well done to all the Shamrock kidlets!
And to Mr Shamrock for knowing that the couch needed re-stuffing and buying ahead for it

So glad to hear that the kids are all doing well. And especially the independance – that’s a huge achievement.
And the Poise could always be used for mopping up keyboards and monitors after a heavy duty beverage spray

Sounds like everyone’s doing fine and it’s clear ‘smiles’ are in order … especially LOL at Mr. Shamrock’s ‘blunder’ and hope he saved the receipt for return. Bring your camera for THAT one!
I’m visiting late (on Monday) because I didn’t have time over the weekend, but I did post MY Smiley Saturday on time and hope you’ll find time to visit.
Hugs and blessings,
