Smiley Saturday is brought is you by Lightening Online
If you want to do a Smiley Saturday, here’s how: Smiley Saturday
I think I will be scraping the barrel this week guys !!!
Last Sunday, at church, there were a couple of smiley moments:
- The Sunday school lesson I planned was almost identical to the sermon in the main church. We did not collaborate and I did not follow the lesson plan !!!!!
- The last photo on the overhead was of the church at Easter doing a big balloon release with yellow balloons on Easter Sunday. Yellow is for Finbar and we do balloon releases. It brought such a smile to my face as I remembered
- Holding baby T. I leaned over and sniffed him, and as I did, my nose touched his cheek and gave me these HUGE vivid memories of when I would sniff Finbar.
OK, as I posted here, our pigs were attacked. The thing that gave me a widdle smile was the cute cop. Tom was his name. Who can resist a man in uniform? (Not Bettina, that’s for sure)
Then, our goat, Kath was attacked. NOT a smiley moment. But Peter, the vet would bring a widdle smile to the most frigid of women. Kind of guy that makes you wish you were a sick widdle animal. (though some would call me that anyway)
Realising what a tragic week it was turning out to be for me, my minions worked hard on their Hot Hunk Thursday to appease me. And they did a very good job.
One thing that did give me comfort and being a smile is the support I received from people. Yes, you —->, you —->, you —-> and you with the alien baby. —->
Mr Shamrock gave me a Smiley moment (hey hey, minds out of the gutter) with the poem he wrote for our boys. He is not a natural writer but had given this some thought over the last couple of months.
Another Smiley moment was being with Kath when she died. The way in which she died triggered memories of my son’s death, yet I was strangely comforted by this. I was on the phone to her first owner, V too, so she was kind of with me.
Another Smiley moment was realising it couldn’t get any worse this week and the only way is up.
And today I am smiling BIG time because in less than a week, I will be jetsetting across the Tasman to Sydney for 10 days of R & R.

Glad to see you could find some smiley moments in amongst that horrible week!
Synchronicity with the Sunday School lesson and church sermon lol!

So sorry that you have had such a shitty week, but how wonderful that you still managed to find some things to smile about. I hope that this week is better for you.
And less than a week till you get here – that’s come up so quickly

I was thinking in my wee widdle head that perhaps your week served well to anchor you to the present so as to help you deal with the pain of the past………….
Or I could be talking out my arse again………. lol

I’m glad you were able to find things to smile about even in the face of the week’s challenges. Re: last Sunday’s topic coincidence – don’t ya love serendipity! Sounds like wonderful memories of Finbar were activated too ;–)
Hugs and blessings,

Your post shows that there is always a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Thanks for the smiles. Validates my decision to join Smiley Saturday today.
