First the Pope and then me

So…

The pope has hit Sydney. He is visiting for World Youth Day. 5000 teens from New Zealand will be popping over to visit the Pontiff. 500,000 Catholic Pilgrims are expected to attend the Mass at Randwick Race Course.

And before Sydney can even breathe a sigh of relief and tidy up after the visit, then there will be another blessed visit by another holy person ……. ME !!!!!!

Of course, I will not be expecting the same treatment as the Pope. I am alot more humble.

I will not be driven in the Pope Mobile, the Shuttle Service will do just fine.  I intend to just blend in with Sydney residents, using the Bus system and Manly ferry to commute.

I will not expect anyone to kiss my ring, a simple handshake or hug will suffice.

I will not be breaking bread at communion with 500,000 but breaking pieces of chocolate and sharing them with gal pal Bettina and her kids.

It is rumoured the Pope will be making an apology to those who were sexually abused by priests.

Mr Shamrock will probably be doing the same for those young waiters who I will be flirting with.

Admittedly, I am half the Pontiff’s age so will be able to walk around alot easier than his Holiness.

So look out Sydney, here I come.

FOUR MORE SLEEPS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. We have a photo of the Pope on the front page of our local paper today. It’s not a good photo. His eyes and smile don’t seem to match somehow. He looks evil. Made me shiver.

  7. You cracked me up with this post! Thanks for visiting my blog and stopping to comment. I appreciate it. Nice to meet you and I hope to continue seeing you around. :)

  8. [...] how could you not enjoy meeting a priest who, when you jokingly say to him that Sydney has had one holy visitor already but now there is her, takes her hand and bows down on one knee and kisses her hand after saying ‘pleased to meet [...]
