We have been out and about today.
We went to the library to get some books for homeschooling.
We bought some new gumboots and shoes for the boys as they won’t stop growing darn it.
On the way home, we were talking.
And Celtic Dingo said to me, ‘Mum, when I was born I thought it was Finbar who lived and Celtic Lad who died.’
‘Did you?’ I said, smiling to myself.
He has often said this.
‘Yes, I was confused.’ CD replied.
CD is younger than CL by 15 months.
CL pips up, ‘But CD, you weren’t even born when Finbar and I were born. You only met me.’
CD replied ‘I know, but I thought you were Finbar when I met you when I was a baby.’
CL said ‘But you were a baby. You didn’t know about Finbar.’
CD replied ‘Yes I did. Mum told me when I was in her tummy.’
Thing is …… I did.
I looked at him and I am sure my face said it all. He smiled at me all knowingly like.
‘Do you remember me talking to you when you were in my tummy?’
‘Yes.’ said Celtic Dingo.
Thing is, in that moment, I believed him.
There’s no reason to not believe him.

I’ve always wondered what children remember from the before birth conversations. sometimes years later they’ll say or do something that sparks a memory, but they don’t know why they’ve said or did and I can’t fully remember either.

Pretty mindblowing. Kids just stun me with what they remember.

I believe him too.
Kids remember so much, especially past lives and very early memories, even as early as he describes!
Awesome!

The first song Boo ever sang, word for word (so to speak) was the Alphabet song. I was very distracted while pregnant so sang that to him all the time.
I believe him.

I believe him too. I spoke to both my kids all the time when I was pregnant, especially in the shower. That was our quiet time together and I loved it. I wonder if one day they will say something to me.

I believe him, CJ always settled when I was pregnant when she heard her fathers voice……… something that carried on all through her early childhood.

Yep, I believe him, too.
They can stick a man on the Moon but they haven’t begun to unravel the mysteries of babies and memory yet.
